Jan 29 2019 – GVSD is seeking information on proposed new watershed limits – www.sd61.bc.ca/news-events/community/catchment-boundary-review/ www.sd61.bc.ca/our-district/departments-services/human-resource-services/ more childcare spaces: since July 2018, funding for more than 17,000 new childcare spaces under the Childcare BC plan and the Early Learning and Childe agreement with the federal government ral was approved. On the way to the good news. The credit period began on October 7, 2019. We have the opportunity to work half an hour a day to collect a week of free with payment during the Spring Break. I love the Spring Break Accrual Agreement we have. The half hour of extra work is a small price for an extra week of vacation that I can spend with my family and friends. Spring Break Accrual is optional. Talk to your foreman if you want to unsubscribe. People depend on public education; Public education depends on people to provide them. Coastal Ferries Consultation: The government has extended its consultation on the future of our coastal ferries. They want to gather information from the public about what the coastal ferry service should be like in 20, 30 or 40 years and how services should be provided in order to better support a desirable future. You can share your feedback by completing the online questionnaire.

I recently attended a meeting of the K-12 Presidents Council. As of two weeks ago, 54 CUPE Locals have ratified their new contracts, and six locals have not. I hope that the remaining six will soon be ratified. I have spoken to other locals and presidents of the Union and confirmed that CUPE382 has the largest cleaning area in British Columbia in terms of the number of square metres. This means that, despite our best efforts, we are often unable to carry out our clean-up as our colleagues in other less overburdened districts can do so. I also hear a lot about the workload of the facilities – from one job site to another, barely able to complete all the projects along the way, bypassed by stressed employees who ask for schedules and AEs. The fact is that we are understaffed and revised down the line. I want all CUPE382 members to know that these issues, the workload of employees and the number of square meters of runs, are at the forefront in my head. I will submit these issues to management on an ongoing basis in order to find solutions.

Victoria is known for its vibrant arts community, large museums and galleries, and welcoming neighborhoods amid a backdrop of beautiful natural landscapes and beauty. With the mildest climate in Canada, Victoria is ideal for those who love to garden and enjoy nature. In this sense, I still hear that people start working on their breaks early and stay too late to do their job. CUPE382 needs anyone who starts at their regular schedule, takes breaks and finishes work at their regular schedule. If the work cannot be completed within the scheduled time, let your foreman know. We cannot be expected to work overtime for free. The House of Representatives is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 23, 2020, but it will return with only 12 members (7 NDP, 2 Liberals, 2 Greens, and the Spokesman) to pass the Procurement Act (which provides funding for government departments) and two laws amending the Employment Act to ensure that no worker can be fired because they follow the instructions of the province`s health worker.
